Rest Day = Catchup & Fixup Anything Day Like all other rest days for us so far, the rest day has been very busy & it gives us a chance to catch up on emails & all the non-flying stuff that we don’t get a chance to do & fix anything that needs fixing.
An early rise! I was feeling a lot better today. I think the antibiotics must be kicking in & I hope my uninary tract infection gets sorted asap. With the Illawarra Wings on today at Wollongong & the very long leg scheduled (around 6 hours flying – to Caboolture), we had to get going really early. Checking […]
I woke up today feeling quite lousy & my hunch was right – I had the dreaded urinary tract infection (UTI). This is something people with quadriplegia & paraplegia often get. And when you do, it knocks the crap out of you. I’m glad I’m sick or else I was going soft. Fortunately my doctor […]
Leaving Bairnsdale It was great to spend time with members of the East Gippsland Aero Club who really helped us out. We got down to the Bairnsdale Airfield early & we were ready to leave around 9.30 am. It was great to also meet a talented flyer, Chloe Higgins. At 9 years of age, she […]
Time to leave Hobart It was great to have the rest day yesterday. We got up early today & managed to get down to the Cambridge Airfield by 8am and left by 9am (wow, we were on time for a change). It was so cold that my fingers wouldn’t work – oh hang on, they […]
With all the preparations last week & everything being so hectic, it was great to have a day in which I could sleep in & catch up on much needed sleep. Linda & I have been so exhausted with getting everything ready for the trip.
Leaving Wynyard We really enjoyed meeting many members of the Wynyard Aero Club. We greatly appreciate all the support they gave us with food, transport & accommodation.
Departure I can’t believe the day finally arrived after 5 years of planning. Arriving down at Tooradin this morning to be greeted by the media, family & friends was unbelievable. I felt quite overwhelmed by all the attention & support that people are showing. It took awhile with interviews & good byes & we departed […]
