There is so much going on right now. We are all starting to feel the pressure as D-day is approaching – this Monday 29th April. At times there seems to be an insurmountable amount of things to get done before we depart. Let’s touch on a few… CASA Approval for Exemption… the final update After […]
NATFLY at Temora, 29-30th March Natfly is the largest recreational aviation event in Australia. I was planning to fly to Natfly at Temora on Thursday (28th) but the weather was lousy; rainy & cloudy, so I few up with Josh on the Friday (29th) instead.
A Talk in Naracoorte, SA Last weekend, I was invited to give a talk at Naracoorte by Leon Brice. For me, this highlighted why On a Wing & a Chair is so important. Leon Brice’s son Charles had a motorbike accident in 2010 leaving him with quadriplegia, of a similar level to mine. Back in […]
The Avalon Airshow (1-3 March) There has been a lot of preparation for the Avalon Airshow – organising uniforms, posters & lots of other things for the On a Wing & a Chair static display there. I had to go to Lethbridge for briefings on how to fly into Avalon over a few weekends as […]
The last few weeks have been really busy and a little stressful at times. There were two talks at the Rotary Clubs of Essendon North and Werribee. Project Coordinator (& my wife) Linda Sands helped me set up, doing the PowerPoint and analysing my talk that night so I can improve each time. Thanks to Essendon North RC […]
Adventureline have helped us out with our adventure! Thanks so much to Matt Browne & Adventureline for kindly donating fleece jackets & polo shirts for the On a Wing & a Chair Flight Team – these will help keep us toastie warm down south & cool up north in our trip round Australia!

It’s our first weekend back after the trial flight. I’m finally getting rid of my chesty cough that’s been plaguing me since Christmas. With much sleep, I’m finally recovering! Firstly, yesterday I received an unexpected call from a stranger saying that they wanted to meet me as they had made something for me. As anyone […]
After 3 years working with On a Wing and a Chair, Louise Alexander, our coordinator has decided it is time to move on. We greatly appreciate all the time & effort Louise has given to the organisation. Louise was a founding member of OWC & has been a significant contributor in getting OWC to where […]
Things are moving! We spent this last weekend in Griffith, NSW . We headed up for an OWC team meeting & I also gave a presentation to the Piper Association (a group of flyers) at the Griffith Aero Club. Unfortunately, the Melbourne weather prevented us from flying up & so instead we set out on […]
