After 3 years working with On a Wing and a Chair, Louise Alexander, our coordinator has decided it is time to move on. We greatly appreciate all the time & effort Louise has given to the organisation. Louise was a founding member of OWC & has been a significant contributor in getting OWC to where it is today. We wish her all the best with her future endeavours!
We are now looking for a volunteer to fulfil the role of Coordinator for the On a Wing & a Chair Round Australia Flight – departing 29 April 2013 & taking approximately 5 weeks. Do you have what it takes? We are searching for someone who wants to experience a once in a lifetime adventure and make a difference in other people’s lives.
This is your chance to be part of the small support team that will assist me in becoming the first person with quadriplegia to fly solo around the coastline of Australia & spread our message: To raise the publics’ expectations of what people with disabilities can achieve & inspiring all.
The trip will be hard work, no pay (may have to pay part of own way), potentially dangerous, long hours, flying in small aircrafts in remote areas, no fixed completion date (flying depends on weather conditions) but an amazing life experience that you’ll never forget. For this position, we need someone with good management & communication skills, experience in media/communications including social media. Contact me to find out more at firstname.lastname@example.org.
